Willits, CA
On September 14, 2024, it was my honor to travel to Willits, CA to capture Sarah and Nick’s big day. These two currently live in Santa Fe, NM but like many desert dwellers have ties to Northern California, so I knew we were a perfect match! Nick grew up in Willits- a mining town rich with redwood views, vineyards, and that homegrown feeling many of us seek out to get away from our busy lives. R Horse Ranch provided the most stunning view for this day with a perfect mix of pine trees, rolling hills, and valley views for miles. Guests came from all over the nation to celebrate Sarah and Nick’s day- just proving how much these two are cherished by their friends and family.
A rich color palette and bright florals paired with the forest floor was a match made in heaven. The green tones of the trees made each bouquet pop, and the log seating of the ceremony provided an organic and intimate feel for the guests. This scene was really one out of a movie.
Golden hour took my breath away. Being able to shoot up high with a view of other surrounding ranches was perfect. Horses were grazing in the golden light, and there was just enough breeze to help us out on some magical veil shots. The way the light set on the treetops created the most romantic setting and really showed off the tones of the valley below.
This day was filled with so much joy it was hard to stop smiling from behind my lens. We shared so many laughs during our time together and thoroughly enjoyed hearing all the wonderful things their loved ones had to say about these two during toasts. They were truly some of the most touching speeches I’ve heard all wedding season. I have to say, I am really looking forward to returning to Willits.
